OFSAA Qualifiers...match-ups
It seems that S1 will play E2; S2 will play E1...W1 will play N2; W2 will play N1.

Re: OFSAA Qualifiers...match-ups
You might want to clarify which region. There are 7 leagues in the GTA.

Re: OFSAA Qualifiers...match-ups
AAAA Quarter Finals
Eastern Commerce-bye
Nobody from our region wanted any part of this matchup as the second seed thus Eastern get's a bye. At least this can be considered a non-blowout.LOL!
Victoria Park @ Etobicoke
This will be over quickly. Etobicoke is too strong and has far too much depth. There is nobody that can contain Jill Stratton on Victoria Park nor will they be able to handle Etobicokes press. Getting to this game is considered a success for Victoria Park and they should be proud of themselves. Etobicoke will win by at least 30 points and that is me being generous.
Weston @ York Mills
Interesting matchup! On paper, Weston should blow York Mills out but Weston has not been playing well lately and come into this game in a slump. York Mills played in a very weak league and would not have made it past the semi-finals in any division so they have the home court advantage. York Mills likes to press a lot but are not a very athletic team. There is nobody that Weston needs to key on. On the other hand, York Mills will have no answer for the Deterville sisters who will get second and third chance points all game. The game will be close for a bit but Weston will dominate the boards and take over.
Weston by 15
Northern @ Birchmount Park
We lost a close game to Birchmount and felt that they were on the way down! Boy were we wrong. Lisa Williams is playing terrific ball and defensively they are tough and fast. Northern is not very quick but have height so this will be an interesting matchup. Birchmount is riding a high and feeling very confident after beating Thomson and winning the East championship. Northern was eliminated in the semi finals of the South and didn't play very well this year. Birchmount will prevail in this one.
Birchmount by 9
AAA Quarter Finals
Don Mills @ Richview
This will be over quickly and will get ugly. Richview is a well coached team and can beat you in a variety of ways. Don Mills is not strong at all and they won the consolation championship at the Earl Haig tournament by playing Dayna Gorchova, who is ineligible. If she is allowed to play then Richview will win by 20, if she doesn't play, it will be 40. I would be surprised if Don Mills scores 20 points this game
York Memorial @ Westview
York Memorial is very well coached and is in a rebuilding year as they have lost almost all of the team from last year due to graduation. Brianna is the key for them as she is a quick and tough forward. I don't know too much about Westview other than they are very athletic and played well in the North. Again though, the North did not give Westview an opportunity to play against quality teams other than Downsview and they got beaten soundly by them.
York Memorial by 10
Lawrence Park @ Thomson
This is the most intriging matchup. Thomson has been top ten all year and possess one of the most athletic teams put there. They looked tired against Birchmount and I feel this will motivate them to step it up. Still, they have played a lot of basketball lately so it will be tough. Lawrence Park played Eastern Commerce tough in both games this season and that says a lot. I don't think they participated in any tournies so they are a mystery outside of the South. I feel that this will be a very close match and an upset would not be out of reach especially if Thomson has to go to the bench. I still think though that Thomson will pull it out at home.
Thomson by 5
Churchill @ Jarvis
I am not putting any bulletin board material to pump up Jarvis so all I will say is that we are looking forward to the opportunity to play at a school with a ton of tradition.

Re: OFSAA Qualifiers...match-ups
Toronto Catholic Semi-Finals:
Tuesday, November, 11th
O'Connor @ Power
Carr @ Pope
If Power or Pope wins, they will represent the TDCAA at AAAA OFSAA.
AAA
TDCAA rep O'Connor plays CISAA rep Havergal.
AA
I believe it will be TDCAA rep Henry Carr vs the CISAA AA Rep (Looking at numbers, I suspect the rep will be which ever team is second in the league, as the top 3 schools are all A-sized and will have the option of going to A if they win but will otherwise play AA if they lose in the final.)

Am I correct in assuming that the girls finalist will have to play the team that lost in the semis to the champions for the second OFSAA berth?
