seems like a no brainer, they are pretty much the only teams that have competed in a tournament thus far. The first list went up last year during the first week of december. Which gives a broader scope of team results with all leagues running and several tournaments completed. I haven't seen brebeuf play, so i am surprised that they made your list. But there results seem like it makes sense... at least on "paper" or web...

    Fair enough.

Remove MT. Put Martingrove at 15 and Sacred at 16. Sacred beat MT this weekend.

Eastern can't be ahead of St. Mike's after St. Mike's win at Henry Carr.

PJP11 72 - Dunbarton 47....Nash what is your point??? Anyways. I'm not even going there. Lol. Pope John 2 is like I've previously stated, one of the Top 5 if not Top 3 teams in the GTA.
Dunbarton is also easily a Top 10 to 16 team. We at St Joan of Arc are just trying to compete, and are happy with the start of our season, going 3-1 with some solid wins against Martingrove and West Hill. The season is still early and I look forward to enjoying it.

    1. Henry Carr - Carr is undefeated, this year combining the 9 & 10 team makes them that more dominant

    2. Vaughan SS - Defeated everyone with the exception of Carr & Downsview. I really like this team and their ability to against anyone. Doesn't look like the lose of Shandon and Tristan is affecting them

    3. Downsview - Probably the deepest junior team, and could be #2 but yet to win a tournament

4.PJP II - Very strong starting 5, 3 starts play on SBA #1 provincial champs a year ago. Kemar Alleyne is a game winner just asks Brampton about his buzzer beater 3 pt, 4 feet behind the 3pt line.

    5. St Mikes -Very discipline team, lack size but high bball IQ. They know how to control the tempo and use it to their advantage.

    6. Eastern - It’s early in the season and I expect them to move up

    7. Chaminade -Arguably the biggest surprise but like PJP II very strong
starting 5. Held St.Mikes to a season low 40 points, defensively they're a problem. You can attribute some of that to their length; the starting 5 average height is 6'2".

    8. Oakwood Solid team but with Green playing up, it will definitely affect
    their dominance

    9. Pickering Are they still the team to beat in Durham? Nevell Provo is one of the top pg at junior add Smithen and Fridal to the mix and you've got a very good team. They should move up but the lost of Burton will hurt them.

    10. Dunbarton- They will tell you they are the best team in Durham and their record backs up that statement. The newest member to Grassroots Cameron Creighty is a solid guard, a tough nose defender and a great leader

    11. Mother Teresa -Still early but with Reynald Kasongo playing up those are some big shoes to fill. Then when you consider no Daniel Campbell and Brandon, you realized MT is a young team. Malik Skeete is a scorer and once he adjusts to junior, he'll contribute more to the team's success.

    12. Ste Marguerite d'Youville -Once Aaron Ariri return they will be tough to beat. Josh is doing a good job at pg and Ty is a very good shooter but it's no secret they miss Dishawn Thompson.

    13. West Hill I'm not sold on West Hill as they have lost their dominance and look very bad in their loses. In Rhodes and King they have a solid back court but they need help from the supporting cast.

    14. Holy Trinity (Oakville) Lose to Dunbarton by 6 in the QF @ GL Roberts

    15. St. Joan of Arc I call them the new kids on the block and watch out

    16. Brebeuf - Like a lot of teams looking to make that jump they lack a true big but their coach gets them to play tough regardless of the opponent.

These teams will probably be looking to bump team once we see them play.

Remember this is my opinion and is not an official list; my insider report comes from coaching this age group for the past 6 years. Anyone that feels their team got snub by me it's early and I'm sure Hooptowngta will provide their list soon.

This is a very astute list and I will add that not only is Mother Teresa missing Brandon Simon and Daniel Johnson but also our best defender and athlete Stephen Lewis, returning Gr. 10 Marcus Thomas-Daley and also Gr. 9 Brentley Heath who was planning to enrol at Mother Teresa but changed his destination to Vaughan Sec. where he has been a big contributor.

This indeed makes us a young and relatively inexperienced. We will get better but it is not easy to move up that list that I know.

Why is Mother Theresa so low they should go higher like I said in numerous threads previously mother theresa is good every year within this decade and people tend to underestimate them when it comes to basketball predictions taht have great grade nines that attend taht school everyear and get developed thier I do not think people recognize then enough and I do NOT ATTEND MT OR KNOW ANYONE THAT ATTENDS THERE same as Oakwood they may craet a spark as well with vaughan henry carr , pickering and especially downsview and dunbarton. I still think eastern commerence is a little low who does holy trinity have that would cause damage in thier league or gta tournaments and whhat abot st andrews I never heard of them

How can PPII be ahead of Vaughan. Vaughan has played much tougher opponents. They competed well against the #1 team (twice)

Eastern should be ranked ahead of Chaminade. Chaminade hasn't rocked anyone's world yet.

St. Andrew's hasn't played anyone. You must be from St. Andrew's.

D'Youville went 1 and 2 at Vaughan tournament. They lost to St. Mike's. Why are they ranked higher than them?

    KTG

That's a pretty good list, but you might need some more information. Seems maybe your busy with Joan of Arc, so i will hopefully try shed some light.

    Your List:
    #1 Father Henry Carr
    #2 Pope John Paul II
    #3 Vaughan
    #4 Downsview
    #5 D'Youville
    #6 Dunbarton
    #7 St Mikes
    #8 Chaminade
    #9 Eastern Commerce
    #10 Pickering
    #11 Oakwood
    #12 Holy Trinity
    #13 West Hill
    #14 St Joan of Arc
    #15 Mother Theresa
    #16 St Andrew's College

My List after the Henry Carr tourny:

    1. FHC
    2. Vaughan SS
    3. Downsview
    4. St Mikes
    5. PJP II
    6. Eastern
    7. Oakwood
    8. Pickering
    9. Dunbarton
    10. Ste Marguerite d'Youville (Peel)
    11. Holy Trinity
    12. Chaminade
    13. West Hill
    14. St Joan of Arc
    15. Westview
    16. Mother Teresa

In 3 out of the 4 Major tournaments with top 10 teams involved ( Emery, Carr, Vaughan, Oshawa) its been Carr, Downsview, Vaughan battling it out, How can you rate Pope a number 2 seed, when there biggest win is against a 9th seed my list, 6th seed your list?

No disrespect to Pope, they must be good, just haven't had the opportunity to see them play, they are not in the MT tournament, so maybe the Hoop it up or Rimrocker

People are sleeping on St Mikes. this is a very good team, and do not take this team light. Shooters, re-bounders, Size, and discipline... look out

BBIQ, your list actually does look a bit more seasoned. My apologize. You also make some valid points. I'm just taking in consideration that PJP2, in my opinion has a very strong starting 5 plus. I mean, they will be lead by one of the best Gr 10 players in the GTA in Kemar Alleyne. Plus the have a solid and athletic pg in Tavoun Jackson. Not to mention one of the GTA's most remarkable young athletes in Gr 9, Jordan Hamilton. Add Kevon Mascoe, Gavin and the rest, poses a very solid team from what I've seen. Vaughan I feel is the sleeper in the top 3, only because of its youth, but they are no doubt a Top 3 squad. St Mikes has had some huge wins early and are playing with poise. I saw Vaughan beat Dunbarton in a close finale in Oshawa, but Pope, in my opinion, really handed a tough squad like Dunbarton, a large margin victory. It will be nice to see the 3 square off in the weeks to come. But those 3 are my definete Top 3.

The top 5 can't be properly ranked until certain Gr 10s choose where they are going to play. If the top Gr 10s decided to play JR instead of SR where they started to play this year, by way of example St Mikes, Holy Trinity and Oakwood move to the top 5.

I think that sacred from york is perhaps underestimated. They usually have an ok team, they came into Henry Carr as underdogs and knocked out mother Theresa. Other than that Basketball IQ's list doesen't seem that far fetched. By the way, did brebeuf gain any good grade 9s?
