The regulars like West Hill and Laurier will be the favorites.

Re: East Region Tier 1
I'm hearing that West Hill is much-improved after a short break from the top of the league. The core of the team was a couple of very strong junior teams over the past couple of years.

This is very true "peel fan", West Hill has been very dominant in Junior the last few seasons and all key players have moved up. Laurier won the Vaughn Road tournament so they look strong as well.

It depends what league you are discussing. You are talking Toronto Catholic East, this post is about Toronto District School Board East division so far.

Are there any other schools that could win other than Laurier or West Hill? What about Pearson, Woburn, Birchmount etc?

I agree i think that Laurier and West Hill are the favourites in the east and probably will be battling it out once again for the East Regional Championship for the 3rd straight year (With Laurier winning it the last 2 years.) Laurier and West Hill head into the new year both undefeated in the east (5-0). I just wanted to say there is one more key player that should be added to this list for Laurier (Frank Water 5'10 SG).

Laurier is 7-0 so far in the east and is tied with West Hill for 1st place overall in the east region. Laurier leads the south division while West Hill leads the north division. Laurier's next game is home against Birchmount on Thursday at 3 P.M then heads to the M.T Invitational tournament for a game against London Beal at 8:30 P.M. West Hill is also in the M.T tournament which will see them face M.T at 4 P.M.

Laurier 52 - (David Kamara 13 points) Birchmount 34 - (Yousif Adam 15 points)
For the most part of the 1st half of the game Laurier used their bench so their starters could rest up for the M.T tournament. Also Laurier played with out one of there best players ( P.G Rajeevh Mckinson ) because of an ankle sprain. Laurier is now 8-0 in league games. Laurier's next game is Tuesday @ home vs. Mowat.

Re: East Region Tier 1
What is going on with Thomson this year? I thought coming into this season that they were going to be a good team that would be very competitive in the east with teams like Laurier and West Hill. Thomson is last place in the north division in the east with an 0-8 record and tied for last place with Mowat. Thomson is completely out of the playoff picture this year and don't even have a single win on the season. This is a big disappointment because Thomson finished up strong last year with a 6-4 record (4th place in the east), lost to Laurier in the east-semi-finals and lost to Jarvis in the backdoor game in the Toronto 3A City Championships.
