On the Saturday(March 19th) of the NPSAA Championships I was able to speak to 5 Standouts in the tournament. Nick Stauskas(committed to Michigan), Ranier Croft(Grassroots Canada), Raheem Isaac(Y.A.A.A.C.E.), Justin Edwards(Grassroots Canada) and Grant Mullins(REDA) about their weekend and short and long term goals and school prospects. All are great kids and demonstrated the continuing rise of Canadian basketball talent playing all over North America.
We wanted to get the Stauskas one out earlier to beat his announcement to attend Michigan but were delayed(oh well can't win them all) but he did give a very convincing indication that he would sign with the Wolverines in the interview.
Great job by Wayne Dawkins(Phase 1) and Keith Vassell two guys I know very well and have played with and against back in my baller days! Also thanks to Rowan Barrett, Director of Youth Player Development, another long-time friend who was on hand to give out some of the post-game/tournament awards! Next time hopefully they will get some more advertising out and pack the gym like it should have been.

Also, stay tuned for some wicked highlights(video) of Martin Dixon-Green and Negus Webster-Chan pouring in mega buckets for Starting 5 squad out of Durham in a game on the Friday night!
Dixon-Green had 39 scintillating points in the win over a younger bounce squad!

    Enjoy.

"The inaugural NPSAA Canadian Prep Championships, with all its twists and turns, was a fitting end to a prep school season with just as many trials and tribulations. In the end, REDA came out victorious with a 91-86 win over YAAACE to claim Gold. In the Bronze medal game, Grassroots was victorious with a 99-90 win over Phase1..."
