That weekend they finished 3-2 at the Nike EYBL in Hampton, Virginia.
This past weekend they lost a close one in the Semi-Finals at the Pitt Jamfest.
They're a work in progress for sure. Lot of talent and not enough minutes to go around
and build chemistry in such a short time period so far.
From talking to a few of the guys...they have to pick up their defensive play and also continue to play inside-outside...feeding the bigs first and getting them established...then when the defence collapses, start raining from outside.
I believe they only lost 1 game at the Jamfest this past weekend...which was that semi-final
loss.
Top to bottom the team is stacked...but with all that talent come issues. Hopefully they will
all be cool to sacrifice their individual games for the duration of the summer in order to peak
at the Peach Jam in Georgia for all the marbles. If they focus on defense, they will do will as most of them have no trouble scoring. They are all really good kids who I think place winning above all else.
There's a ton of talent stateside as well and those guys don't want to go down to a Canadian squad so that's also extra incentive for the Americans.
Only 24 of the 40 teams in the EYBL make it to the Peach Jam...so it won't be easy for anyof the squads, but I expect CIA Bounce to make it and be in the hunt for the EYBL crown.
The better they do...the better it will be for players up here as more teams/coaches will come
calling on Canada for talent/players. So I'm rooting for them to do well and keep the spotlight
shining on Canada as it has begun to already!
