2011-2012 Contenders

It has been a surprisingly quiet summer. There has not been much talk at all in comparison to past years so I just want to put my thoughts out there for the 2011-2012 season.

Favorites

Henry Carr Crusaders- It is their year and they will finally get that elusive OFSAA title
Vaughn Voyageurs- Willl be strong again, but, Wiggin's talent gave them a huge edge

Strong Contenders

Mother Teresa-Well coached, hard working disciplined team..might lose Deshaun williams
St. Mikes-Duane Notice and Malcolm but also a solid supporting cast and coaching
Martingrove-At the 3A level, the team to beat at OFSAA if their young squad is in intact


Dark Horses

Eastern Commerce-some key loses in Aaron Best and company, but, always strong
Pickering-some key loses in Damion Rashford, Asher Tulloch Lewis, and Jevon Jacobs,
Oakwood-Hard working, well coached, disciplined team but loses Blake and Watkins
Pine Ridge-Jamal Reynolds is back..Junior star Chase Vasell and Alistair Cole provide a solid supporting cast

Martingrove I heard has the same team from last year again??

Yea its queit wats ball saying in toronto , peel , like which players to wach out for , which player is goin to what school

I believe Martingrove will have all players back except one (i think they had one 12r player, Singh I believe, correct me if I'm wrong). Will be tough

Fletchers did lose 3 key players: their 5th year playerRichard, there big post Denzel and I believe Shaq is gone, confirm?

St. Mike's will definietly be strong still have Notice and Malcolm

Oakwood lost a couple key players (Watkins and Blake) but should compete as always

Pine Ridge: Is Reynolds back? going to compete

Carr is going to be real good. With just Adu gone, confirm? new recruits?

Vaughan will duke it out with Carr for #1 spot, and I believe is the team to beat

MT and Pickering will always compete

Eastern loses Ariri and Best but still have some dynamic players

DY loses 2 in Periana and Oppong, Ariri healthy?

Don't forget about Loyola oakville, they did lose 2 monsters in mike and adam but still have boney, rusic, and..... i forgot his name

Pope?

Goetz loses their big I believe, but all else are back

West Hill? had a young squad last year

Richview? all returning?

Beal will compete, but lost 2 key players

Trinity? still a young squad

Any word from the Burlington/hamilton region?

Reynolds is back at Pine Ridge and he has a good supporting cast this year as well.

i dont think martingrove would be good like last year . i really wonder whos ganna take it for peel, becuase its so quiet so far

Fletchers loses Richard, Cudjoe, Shaq and Denzel

West Hill loses Burke

For Peel: dy, Mt Carmel, Campion, Bcss, Goetz, Turner should all be strong.

Loyola: Peter Rusic is going to Prep school in the States..just Rohan Boney
Henry Carr: Richard Adu is going to REDA
Mother Teresa: Probably losing Dashaun Williams
Pickering: Loses Damian Rashford

These are players that were expected to comeback to their respective teams. Vaughn is looking pretty good right now if all of this movement is 100% accurate. Are Cy and Aidan returning to Vaughn?

D'Y wil compete and look to defend with James, Brandon GB, Brandon H, Abed, Aaron

Campion will be ok.

BCSS lost Ashton and Alex to Niagara. Heard D'adrian is gone too.

Goetz loses there big to JUCO and there shooter. Return everyone else.

Turner will be ok.

Mount Carmel return all starters and rotation players plus Marcus is eligible. Aswell as strong juniors moving up.

Ascension should be good and contend for Peel. Same for Sandalwood.

I highly doubt Fletchers will contend for Peel let alone OFSAA. They lost 4 starters possibly a 5th if Jonathon Mckay graduated. there bench wasnt the greatest and they had a very weak junior team.

Peter Rusic and Nick Madray have both left and gone down south to play for Findlay College Prep Pilots in Vegas.

Lincoln ive heard is not returning to Carr.

Martingrove has lost both Singh to graduation and Emanuel to prep. They wont be the same team without those two.

Holy Trinity still have Trevon and Nolan lose Pate.

Vaughn lost Troy Reid Knight to prep. They still will be a good team and a contender with Roshane, Henry and Cy.

Richview lost Scott to Queens I believe. They return Patrick Street, T.J. Rutty, and Chevon Brown. I think they will be pretenders.

Loyola still has Boney and Babic.

I think pickering is hit hard. Aswell as JC Richardson. they wont be saying much IMO.

I heard Cassidy Ryan from Carmel left? Can you confirm stevelogan?

Turner did well last year with a very yound squad, could be the dark horse

Troy Reid Knight is a huge loss for vaughan, didn't know he was gone

Campion was mostly grade 11 last year, can see them having a rebound year.

Ascension, I believe had 3 fifth year guys last year. If back, ascension is left with Camall and Lewis.

Sandalwood lost one player I believe. Sacky back?

Cassidy Ryan is back at Mount Carmel for this upcoming school year. He is already practicing with the team.

yea fletchers wont be gud dis year , and vaughan and carr wouyld probably be gta contenders like the previous years. Turner , sandalwood and campion could be peel contenders this year since they didnt loose much players and much of the players that were on thse teams frm last year were grade 11z . I dont know what ascension is up to , becuase last year the team wasnt successful as most ppl thought they would be . martingrove in toronto isnt ganna be good like last year , becuase i heard eman is leavin nd one of their othr key player graduated, so tehy wont be slappin teams by over 50 +. Overall , wow alot of player left for prep or have graduated

Also forgot to mention that there was a rumour that Brent Carey from Campion would be leaving for prep or is looking to leave to attend a prep. Dont know if it has any truth.

Also just heard that Jordan Fray from Goetz may have left. Dimitri is also not back at Goetz.

who is on dy, and who are the key players ?

DY has solid juniors moving up...furthermore solid coaching always has them in contention

BCSS lost their top 2 players. I hear their big man is back though, but their entire junior tier I championship team is moving up...solid coaching as well should keep them in the fold

I will be suprised if Fletchers is anywhere close to where they were

Carmel should be strong Marcus and Cassidy leading the way

Look for Lincoln and Turner to have solid results... both teams had young squads last year and the experience should help them this year

Ascension with Camal and their big man should be considered as a strong team..they still have on court issues though

Campion had a young squad last year and a good junior team...good coaching as well..but if Carey left that would hurt

Notre Dame lost Simpson and Rory, not sure if they have anyone else

Not sure about Sandalwood

Central Peel with an Ontario Team player, Marcus Lewis, I believe and Chinguacousy should be playing tier I

Notre Dame has Donovan Hastings and Amen Obano. No guard though that I know of.

I really think Carr, Vaughn, and St. Mikes will be the top 3 teams. Alot of movement in the rankings under them

yea i wonder whats up with ascension? Is camal brown back? Also whats bikram gill doing? A couple of years ago he was considered a prospect for lots of american scholarships, but he had a terrible season last year, so did he get any offers?? Where is he attending school.

I agree with stevelogan, those are my top 3 picks for next year along with pine ridge

Vaughn loosing Troy Knight is a huge loss major piece to that team.

singh did graduate but is taking a fifth year you are correct about everything else
