Mt and Eastern too high, who has Eastern beat? Holy Trinity has not played anyone for them to be 8th. Vaughns loss to Dowsnview was like a win in these rankings. Oakwood also has not beaten anyone. Emery is looking good with the two wins they got. Pope has lost to Martingrove and Downsview. Mother Theresa is just living off of the little tournament switches their coach made in order for them to advance in their tournament. Carr is the clear #1.

Holy Trinity is a good team, they should be top ten

I think pope is a bit high. They haven't done anything as of late

Martingrove had a poor weekend losing to sandalwood and emery

and by the way downsview win over vaughan was a month ago, they haven't done anything lately

I've noticed in the past that inactivity usually results in moving down. In the case of oakwood, they moved up? Holy trinity is obviously a good team, but the top ten spot should be held for teams who have beaten ranked teams. Obviously this is a poll and not one persons fault, but hopefully voters would agree. On another hand, I think the top 5 or even 6 are perfectly ranked and tough top GTA teams.

Rankings are always tough to figure out because teams will win and lose to teams above and below them. I believe the most recent results trump any results from earlier in the season. Also from one week to the next, every team has to play with slightly different players due to injuries, academic suspensions, etc.

Ultimately, these rankings just provide a fun source of discussion for basketball junkies and they don't mean anything other than maybe a bit of recognition in the basketball community. In the end, the only thing these teams care about is winning their respective league championships.

coach clement does not put these rankings together. coaches vote and he accumulates the results. He has no bias placed in this. You guys need to educate yourself first before you start accusing people of wrong doing.

It's a shame that there needs to be a weekly reminder that posters should not invest too much emotion in the poll. It is simply the opinion of a fluctuating number of volunteers. Enjoy it for what it's worth and remember that there's no point in debating the ranking with a confrontational attitude.

some people here need to relax. Obviously these rankings are subjective and I dont blame some of you for disagreeing. Please know that Bob is taking his time to do this. Its not his JOB to put the rankings up, he doesnt have to. So please just appreciate what he has done for us. At the end of the day, these rankings are good fun (and like what Dunbarton Coach Deighan mentioned before) discussion starters. I find it to be good motivation for teams that are in the lower end or not in the rankings... but thats just me.

hey at least now we know who is the team to beat Very Happy

However, people that take their time to frequent this site are obviously pasionate about basketball and deserve to voice their opinions whether they agree or disagree. Having said that, it does seem a little strange that MT sits at the 5 spot. Here are the facts:

MT claims quality wins over #12 ranked Downsview (by 2 on MT's floor), over #16 Martingrove, over #15 Pickering (by 3 on MT's floor), over an unranked West Hill, and a 2 point win over McNab (unrecognized by this poll) on MT's floor when McNab was missing 3 of its top 6 players.

MT has lost by 33 to #3 ranked Eastern, and by 7 to #7 ranked Dunbraton.

Based upon these facts, it is a little strange that MT hold's the 5 spot in a poll that their coach coordinates.

Just for fun, I think they belong somewhere outside of the top 10.

Based on the rankings, MT beat the teams they were supposed to, and lost to Eastern like they were suppose to. A loss to Dunbarton should put them anywhere from the #5 to #7. Bottom line, it seems the coaches got right.

Discussion Starter: If McNab being the only outside GTA team were to be ranked, where would they rank in this poll?

its only right to give them the 1 seed ..... they beat a team who hasn't lost in 2-4 years and from what I hear, it wasn't a fluke. They lost games earlier due to injuries, but seem to be working as a unit now.

I could see that line of reasoning however Carr is entitled to one possible off-game! Its hard to stay motivated when you're that dominant!

For this week MacNabb could possibly be #1 if they were eligible (BUT they're not!). Overall Carr is #1 until proven otherwise. And certainly they are #1 in the GTA!

A rematch is in order with MacNabb hopefully at full strength. But will it happen?

You could sell tickets for that one for sure!

The gym at DY was electric during the FHC vs McNab game last weekend. It would be great to see these two match up in the Rimrocker tournament. Hopefully FHC can participate.
