Should be very competitive but I find myself hoping for the USA. Its partly because of DeMar but also because its the best scenario for Canada's qualifying in the future.

Its going to be exciting for sure!

This will be the first time in many competitions I will be in the U.S. corner. I have respect for a number of other teams and although the Americans have a favourable pool this will be no walk in the park for them!

    Found it...

First and foremost = I am a huge Croatian supporter.

But I love when the Americans are upset... but in this tournament - for the better good of our Canadian national team - I am sort of rooting for the US too.

I can see Spain beating them... the Spanish bigs (Gasol x2 and Ibaka) will beat up Cousins, Drummond Plumlee and Davis... the entire Spanish team has been together for over a decade and it's at home. Would be an awesome final.

For more than half a game the USA looked VERY beatable against turkey who are not considered a prime contender.

The game wound up 98-77 but not before some serious concern for the U.S.

P.S. - I love Coach K's expressions - I would be afraid to lose if I played for him lol.

Great game between Argentina and Phillipines. Experience pulls Argentina through!

Unbelievable how the referees allowed the screener to move all over to create contact!

parity has never been greater in international basketball... fun tournament thus far

as for Finland... what a frickin joke that selection was

and it pissed me off Brazil got in there given they came in last place last summer at the qualifiers... they only got it because they are hosting the Olympics in 2016

To my eyes the USA seems to have an easier bracket than Spain. Unless they underestimate an opponent I see them walking through to the semi-finals. I have in my head that Lithuania would play up against them should they match up however. It would help them if they involved J-V a bit more imo.

Spain is an experienced squad and will likely make it through as well. It is looking like the dream USA-Spain final is in the works!

Great quarter-finals today. I like Spain over France and the other is a toss-up.

USA vs. Lithuania could be a good semi-final. Lithuania has risen to the occasion in the past.

JV has been a beast... would love to see an upset but of course wouldn't be good for Canada next summer

Still think Spain is flying on all cylinders and will beat the US in the final

wow for sure... I am stunned... but then again its international basketball (like march madness)

really didn't like the way the Spanish coach ran his bench... no continuity.

I am huge on the notion that players decide the outcome of games and coaches really don't... but in this case I think the French coach outclassed the Spanish coach

not to take anything away from france but you can play that game 10 times and I bet spain wins it 9 times

    Yes that is true!

Not sure they are capable of doing the same to a deep American side.

not sure why the serbs thought they could run with the usa... although they started off on fire no chance in hell they coulda kept that up for 40.

in the end... we have a better chance at making the Olympics which is great cuz we need it
