That's why you never see free throws to win games -- you let them play.
HotCupCakes made a good point that JCR was fouling them all game but the refs only noticed in the fourth. But see, that's not what referees are supposed to do. They are supposed to establish what they will be calling in the first few minutes and then stick with that throughout the game. If anything they "let them play" in the fourth, not suddenly tighten up the calls.

Props to the kid who made the two clutch free throws though with time expired! Well done.

Julian Clarke is the man. He shot a three from like half court. Oakwood should be the strong favourite now!

I posted this in another discussion but thought I would post it here also and just add a little to it. I think Karma is a wonderful thing - what goes around comes around. Congratulations on your win Oakwood vs J Clarke. Yes you knocked Pickering out but that's alright there is always next year.

Very disappointing loss on Pickering's part and we could all start playing the blame game but a team is a team is a team. . We can all sit here and say this should have happened and that should have happened but one or two individuals do not make up a basketball team. Unfortunately we tend to look at what the coach or player(s) did or didn’t. However togetherness has to be there in every way from the coaches to the players.
It is unfortunate that in this morning’s game, once again the officiating was ridiculous, but again, you can’t blame them because they are not playing or coaching the game – just doing what they are paid to do and unfortunately in some cases a horrible job.
Maybe it is time for LOSSA and OFSAA to rethink the way they do some of the things they do from disciplining players to seeding the teams to the officiating and convening. Anyway, it is what it is and Pickering has to now pick themselves up regroup and first focus on completing their academic year and then decide what happens for next academic/athletic year.

A big THANK YOU to not only the Pickering coaches but to all coaches who spend countless hours coaching and travelling with these players – I do know it is a thankless job. Regardless of the outcome this year, I will continue to cheer the young men on because it does take a lot for any individual be it Junior or Senior to go out and play the game under such pressure – might not come out on top but in my eyes they are still victors. Hold your head up men – the best is yet to come…even if it is next year.
