The seeding committee is going to have a tough time. I don't think there is a clear #1 seed.... There are three teams that could get the number one seed....

The seeding committee is considering a lottery and then locking themselves inside a panic room.

The seeding committee was comprised of Barry Hayes (Hoopstars Canada), Elias and Tariq Sbiet (North Pole Hoops) and James DePoe (Humber College), with me as the chair.
Factors that were considered:
- record
- record against other 4A qualifiers
- record against other highly-ranked teams in the GTA and provincial rankings
- wins vs higher-seeded teams and losses to lower-seeded teams
- progress from start to end of season
- strength of schedule and strength of league
- qualification path in region
- recent results at OFSAA by team and region
- use of ineligible players; not as punishment but rather in considering strength of team at OFSAA vs performance at tournaments or in league where those players were used
There are cases of teams being ranked ahead of other teams they lost to this season. Bear in mind that we are not ranking two teams head-to-head but rather within a group of 18 and we have to look at the bigger picture. Often there are circular issues (e.g. A beats B; B beats C; C beats A) or the game(s) in question was/were an anomaly compared to how the teams being compared stacked up against common competition the rest of the season.

Great job with the seeding. It must have been a difficult job. I predict the top three teams make the semis.... Oakwood will beat Eastern in the QF.....

I think the committee did a great job seeding the teams overall with the exception of Notre Dame (Brampton). The Knights should not be a 10 seed. They easily should have been 7th or at worst the 8th seed. I think they'll be a dangerous team at the ten spot.

There is not really a huge difference between getting the number 7 or number 10 seed. The seven seed has an easier opening game BUT if things work out as planned... If there are no upsets.....The 7 seed plays the 10 seed in the second round......
I still agree that the seeding was done perfectly.....
ND Brampton does not have enough quality games. What is their record against AAAA teams?
Yes they beat Campion three times this year.....but Campion unfortunately is not at AAAA this year

Prime Time!
I hear what you are saying. I think the committee did a great job as well, however, in my opinion, I believe that ND(Brampton) should be higher. They are battled tested. They grabbed one of the two spots out of Peel and in this particular year that means something where the field is wide open. Peel was tough!! Campion and Goetz were highly regarded and respected this past season but did not grab the OFSAA spot of out ROPSAA. It is just a gut feeling. I was on the OFSAA committee in 2010 when we ranked St. Thomas Moore 13th. I thought that was a huge mistake and they advanced to the OFSAA final and lost to Oakwood that year. We'll see! I might be right again or I may be wrong.
As for a ND and Pine Ridge match up, it is not as simple as you suggested. In the NCAA tourney, a ten seed would meet a seven seed in the second round. However, at OFSAA if you win then you go on the other side of the pool. If ND wins and Pine Ridge wins then, Pine Ridge would play Cardinal Newman. If ND loses and Pine Ridge wins, then they'll meet up in the second round.
