I was lead to believe that Humberview was mostly grade 12s last year and that the majority have moved on.

Xavier lost Clint but most of the starters and key bench players should be back.

Re: Top 5 In each division in PEEL 08-09
Hm, what's so good about goetz?
They lost their whole program in Tyndale, Nicholson, Cooper, Hanson, and Big Mike.
Their only starter returning is Allan, and got a transfer in Jahlaine from loyola. Their grade 12's aren't that strong, which consists of ulysses and zack.
Contenders will be...
D'youville returns their main guys in Kamran, Kemiesh, Akeem, and Denis.
Should be in the finals or semi's.
Loyola returns Tamoy, Tarrell, Greg, Juwan, Oscar, Jamal.
Should be in semi's nothing further.
St. Francis Xavier is underrated. Their team will be heavily relied on Darren and Matthew.
Should be in semi's or finals.
Campion looses big 3 in brandon, ante, kareem. Keeps a legit roster in Jordan, Jayden, new big man Byron, Martelle, and transfer Theo from gonzaga.
should be in semi's or finals

Re: Top 5 In each division in PEEL 08-09
Jordan is back? I thought he also went down south but that might have just been a bad rumour.
I'm hearing that Xavier will have a more balanced attack than the other teams. Ben, Jamar, Jamal, and the new kid from the States are all supposed to be capable of starting, too and the transfer from Brampton (Turner or Augustine, not sure which) can provide quality minutes. With the juniors looking strong, too this could finally be a program on the rise after a few years of under achieving.

Yeah he transferred back. Ascension, Campion, and D'y should do good though. MDV's nice though? Humberview was a surprise last year, I don't know how many people are back so who knows.

Meadowvale is actually nice this year. Every year they thing they're so nice but this year they could go far, With all their returning players + an addition of a new transfer from Toronto.

Re: Top 5 In each division in PEEL 08-09
dont forget about pocock guys! i think pocock will be a contender for sure! semifinals!
xavier???? are you jokin! at silverthorn nike invitational, xavier lost to george harvey in semifinal by 15 points! pocock played a good game against harvey and lost by one in the finals where pocock missed a three at the buzzer (84-83)
i think its gonna be like this:
1)loyola
2)campion
3)pocock
4)dyouville
5)mount carmel or goetz
other teams are not that strong this year! trust me ive seen all of them play exhibition games

meadowvale is not strong! they got bunch of players that are athletic and good individual but they never play good as a team! trust me ive coached some of them on my rep team!
based on my opinion sandalwood is a good team too! they got a good transfer #30 alister!
but i think the top five teams this year are gonna be dyouvile, pocock, campion, loyola, carmel or goetz

I was told Xavier was missing 4 of their top 6 players to football for the tournament. Early season tournaments aren't a good way to judge teams with solid football programs like Xavier, Carmel, Lorne Park, d'Youville, etc.

I never make excuses for Xavier's performance; they did not play well this weekend. However, I will point out errors in fact.
Xavier was missing Jamar, Darren, and Erin for the game against George Harvey. They were missing those three plus Matthew for the game against Redmond.
lebron, Peel fan's statement is closer to the truth than your statement.

Re: Top 5 In each division in PEEL 08-09
i was told jamar transfered !
well from what i saw on the weekend! three of their starters were the players who were big part of their team last year! they got work to do!
pocock had no bigmans on the weekend due to probably football as well!
xavier wil be a contender no question but i think dyouville, pocock are better squads!
by the way , when goerge harvey faced xavier at silverthorn two of their starters didnt play due to coach's decision or some other reason ! they were there but they didnt play.
but they all played against pocock and almost lost! the pocock without bigmans!
any idea where #4 were from last year on the pocock squad? he is a tremendous athlete and their starting center!
