Good job Coach Maydo! Taking 6 players to the title? Thats big! He has always been a great coach, motivator and teacher! From back in my days when he lead Bathurst Heights to the OFSSAA title with Phillip Dixon in the late 80's. Good job emery boys!

GoodJob to all the final four teams .. Especially a big hearted EMERY squad made it to OFSAA finals with 6 guys alot of respect to the players and Bob Maydo... Congradulations to St. Matthews on winning 08-09 3A OFSAA and keeping the gold in Ottawa..

I'm curious about the six players comment I've been reading. How does that jive with the picture taken after they won silver?

i think someone confused the story a bit, it was mentions that maydo took a bathurst team to ofsaa gold

Maydo coached Bathurst to OFSAA gold in 2000.

Most people were not at OFSAA, and were only aware of Emery having 6 players while in Toronto. In Ottawa they had more players on their bench.

Wow why has no body been talking about these other teams.

It is possible that Emery still only had 6 Senior players. They may have filled the void with players from their Junior team just in case.

Which, depedning on your Junior players skill level may still be taken as playing with 6 players.

BUT I WILL ALSO LIKE TO SHOUTOUT MARTINGROVE AND VAUGHAN SECONDARY BECAUSE I HEARD THESE TWO TEAMS WERE SUPPORTING EMERY..SAYING THINGS LIKE T.DOT, DEFENCE, EMERY etc.

Very positive to have such support coming from former opponents in the tourney. A good indicator that the teams are well coached and respectful. A true credit to their schools.

Emery initially had 6 players the whole season in OFSAA they took some talented juniors. however until they went to ottawa they ONLY had six players, and they defeated teams such as Vaughn Road, Nrthern, Laurier, and Newtonbrooke

emeryball, are you saying they only had six players all season until OFSAA? That doesn't make sense because they had more than six at the Rimrocker.

They had their full roster up until like January/February..after that they had 6 guys.

the beginning of the season to about January to February we had a full roster though some players were not committed so they were cut. we had a player who was a key part of our rotation he could not play in the playoffs b/c he was a transfer.
We went to the AAA finals and came in second with only six guys

OK, that explains it. The extra players at OFSAA were juniors?
