    Peel Fan,
Respectfully this is single elimination and there is no round robin so its a matter of who plays where in the draw and balancing the draw as best we can. It is a very tough format.

After the first round which will send you championship or consolation, its one (loss)-and-done. I am sure the three teams who come out on top will be of a very high caliber.

With so many good teams the draw was very difficult to set up. There are no soft spots look at the position Mother Teresa is in:

    Thursday Dec. 4

    9:00 a.m. - Eastern vs. Pine Ridge
    10:30 a.m. - Oakwood vs. Fr. Henry Carr B

12:00 p.m. - Fr. Henry Carr A vs. St Theresa of Lisieux
    1:30 p.m. - St Marguerite d'Youville vs. West Hill

    Friday Dec. 5 (revised)

9:00 a.m. - Pope John Paul II vs. Notre Dame (Ajax)
10:30 a.m. - Richview vs. St Jean de Brebeuf (York)

    12:00 p.m. - Martingrove vs. Vaughan
    1:30 p.m. - Mother Teresa vs. Dunbarton

2nd round is winner vs. winner
    loser vs. loser

Straight elimination format from the 2nd round on.

Champions, Finalists and Consolation Championship medals
    Tournament MVP
    First and Second all-stars.

    Great draw Coach Bob!

Looking forward to seeing some of these teams in action. Even the first round games look challenging.

To win this tournament, a team is really going to have to bring their best to every match-up. There is no easy ride for ANY team!

    Thank you Coach.

It was very tough to formulate. I tried to be fair.

Even the consolation champion will be a very high quality team.

Some outstanding teams will be out in two games.

Dunbarton and Martingrove have switched spots in the draw.

I think we have done our best to separate the top teams but there was no way tough games could be avoided.

Hopefully it will help teams get better. Competition you know does bring out the best (and worst) in people.

Spectators are welcome to attend the tournament AFTER school has finished at 3pm. Please DO NOT show up prior to 3pm on Thursday or Friday as you will not be admitted to the gym and you will be removed from the school. This is a decision of the administration, not the coaches or the tournament organizers. Please do not put us in a position where the tournament is put into jeopardy. I will do my best (as I did last year) to provide up to the minute updates on the games being played.

Admission prices: Students with valid student card $3.00

    Adults: $5.00

There will be no free passes. Please do not come if you do not wish to support the Mother Teresa Basketball Program. It is expected that when in the gym spectators sit on our new bleachers (there will be no standing--again this is an administrative decision do not take it out on the helpers or the organizers). We look forward to a great tournament and a great turn out.

    Regards,

Jason Gill (Teacher/Coach Mother Teresa Basketball)
