these are the AA ofsaa teams with my predicted rankings. Please note that I admit to knowing very little about Forester, Robero, Fogarty, and Owen Sound.

    4. St. Basils
    5. Timmins
    6. St. Francis
    7. Herman
    8. George Harvey
    9. GL Roberts
    10. Montcalm
    11. TASS
    12. Forester
    13. Smith Falls
    14. Arch Bishop Romero
    15. Patrick Fogarty
    16. Owen Sound

No, I believe that it is a seeded draw. You can access the ofsaa format for an 18 team seeded draw by using this link: http://www.ofsaa.on.ca//site/content/Basketball%20Boys%20Sept%202009.doc

Pearson is seeded too high. As well as they have played this year, they will not get seeded ahead of St. Francis who has consistently done well at this level (and who beat Parkside in the AA qualifier though both advance) and a Timmins team that has a strong rep and a record of AA success, something the seeding committee places a great deal of value in. OWen Sound will be seeded a fair bit higher. CWOSSA is a solid league and they were one of the better teams, even when playing the squads from KW and Guelph.

Steve.Nash.1 who are you?, did g.l beat you or something?, get over yourself.. They played hard and are going to ofsaa as they deserve being the best AA school in Durham/York region

Wow, typical for pepole to make excuses.. If the refs were 'bad' why'd they win, because they were more prepared.. G.l should have won by +10 but let it slip towards the end

I don't go to either school but I heard that the game was terrible from an observer. U can't prepare for the refs and my friend just told me that GL never lead by more than 10 so how could then win by 10+.

Key lay-ups and free throws were missed which lead to transistion points for Woodbridge Late in the 4th Q which may have lead to a 10 point lead.. But what's done is done, good luck to the York rep next year

GL roberts played off their crowed and had the refs calling the game like alumni, and had a guy screaming after everymade basket like he had never hit a lay up before..

    Rankings are out

    1. St Thomas Aquinas
    2. St. Francis
    3. Parkside
    4. Herman
    5. George Harvey
    6. St Bails
    7. Timmins
    8. Montcalm
    9. LBP
    10. Forester
    11. TASS
    12. GL Roberts
    13. Owen Sound
    14. Smith Falls
    15. Patrick Fogarty
    16. Archbishop Romero
    17. Loyalist
    18. Sir Winston Churchill

st. francis at #2 confuses me. I know they just beat an injury-riddled parkside but to leap to that ranking without any other quality wins? Did I miss something? They didnt even qualify for ofsaa last year.

I think that St. THomas Aquinas or Herman out in Windsor will take this..especially if Jordan Gauthier plays well.

Timmins looks like a strong team. Saw part of their game. Some of the guys are dirty! Dunks, Threes, Steal. They can do it all. And they are huge! Tallest is a 6'7 guy and has two other brothers in the team 6'6 and 6'5. They are a team to beat!

#1 St. Thomas Aquinas Oakville is headed to semis against #4 Windsor Herman
#3 Parkside meets #7 Timmins in semis

Both STA and Parkside have better records in this tournament, having defeated all their opponents by 20 + points.

Yes, Herman beat George Harvey 60-40 to get to semi's. No doubt about it, Herman did very well to get there, but if you look at the draw, they had a much easier path to it, as did STA.
It wont matter tomorrow...they all will have to win against very tough teams to get to the gold medal game.

Parkside absolutey destroyed Timmins by over 20. Timmins is zone only and their opponent definitely took advantage. One interesting note, Parkside pulled starters and played bench....Timmins coach does not apparently believe in that sort of thing and kept his starters on. Rolling Eyes

Herman pulled off an upset by defeating STA by 2. Bad shooting by STA held them down. They are the better team but couldn't pull it together and contain J. Gauthier who scored over 20 pts. Also, the officiating was beyond stupid...

Officiating should be better tonight at the finals. I would expect them to have some that ref CIS which usually is the case during SWOSSA finals. If Greenwood refs he'll make the right calls....he's tough.
Gauthier is hard to contain along with a few others on the Herman team. They move the ball well.
