MEET SOME OF OUR MOST DYNAMIC AND SUCCESSFUL LEADERS
AND ACHIEVERS IN POLITICS, BUSINESS, SCIENCE, LAW, SPORTS,
THE ARTS AND MORE.
The SLAM-DUNK Career Fair and Mentorship Conference will be taking
place Saturday June 5th, 2010 at Vaughan S.S. The day will begin with a
dynamic Opening Ceremony, including a Keynote Speaker
who will deliver a motivational talk on the importance of goal setting
and education. The day will then consist of several workshops ranging from self-esteem,
sports and education, careers and interview skills and more. There will also
be parent workshops covering topics such as communicating with your
child’s teacher and school, working with educators to ensure your child’s
success, advocating for your child, and communication with teenagers. Career
booths will also be on display with seasoned professionals on hand to
answer all questions and concerns the participants may have.

THE BASKETBALL GAME
York Region Boys Basketball All-Star Team Try-Outs
Try-Out Dates:
1st try-Out – Thursday, May 27th, 2010 (4:30pm – 6:30pm)
2nd try –Out – Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 (4:30pm – 6:30pm)

Cost: Free (students will be given a complimentary jersey)
Coaches/ Teachers:
A panel of coaches will select the All-Star Team. We are hoping to have as much help as possible in selecting the team. Please feel free to come to Vaughan on the first try-out date to help in the selection process. The coaching staff for the York Region team will be made up of coaches who have helped select the team.
Game:
York Region All-Stars vs. Toronto All-Stars (Team try-outs to be announced soon)
