Etobicoke Vs Eastern should be very interesting cause both those teams are fighting for a chance to go to ofsaa and this shuld be a preview for it.

d'youville Vs Weston is just slaughter...

Pope John Paul vs. St. Thomas Aquinas should be one of the better games to watch

Some very good match-ups in pool play.

    Pool A:
This pool will feature some of the top post players in the GTA that are being recruited by NCAA schools. Weston features the twins Nicole & Portia Deterville, and Dunbarton has Simone Thomas & Wuni Abungiade.
d'Youville vs. Dunbarton - Wumi and Simone from Dunbarton will be hard to handle, but give the edge to the d'Youville's guards, could be a potenial 20 point game.
Dunbarton vs. Weston - Good match-up for Weston in terms of avoiding quick little guards. The pace should be at Weston pace.

    Pool B:
Eastern Commerce vs. Etobicoke will be good. If Eastern goes zone, Etobicoke has shooters that can hit the three. If Eastern goes man, Etobioke has the patience to run their sets.
Markham vs. Etobicoke - Two teams in the honourable mentions.

    Pool C:
Applewood vs. Pickering - Applewood who is knocking on the door of being an honourable mention team will get a chance to play against honourable mention Pickering.
Pickering vs. Ascenion - Pickering who made the Top 10 briefly has good guard play and should be able to hang with Ascension.
Applewood vs. Ascension - two very good Peel teams going head to head.

    Pool D:
The group of death!! Every game is this pool should be close.
#4 Pope John Paul vs. #3 Thomson should be a classic. The game is played in their home town, and the game is at prime-time (6:00 pm). Both teams have players that are familiar with each other as they both have SBA and Advantage Titans players on them.
St. Thomas Aquinas (Brampton) is on the rise after beating Pine Ridge and Ascension at the Lady Rimrocker. Aquinas could knock off either #3 or #4.

Much credit is due Chris for arranging such a quality tournament. Besides Rimrocker, probably the strongest tournament I have seen in the GTA...

To coach blue..no disrespect but one of the strongest provincial tournaments in the GTA is the Etobicokes rams classic which hosted the best teams in the province.

It was held last weekend. Waterloo came in first with westdale in second

It interests me to know why so many out-of-town teams came to represent Provincially, but yet none of the Top 10 ranked teams from the GTA were present. Is this by team choice, is it a school budget thing, conveynor decision... just wandering? Considering one would think our GTA teams want to be in the big tournaments against the mighty Provincial teams. I know Y' Douville had their own tournament that weekend with Notre Damn (Ajax) present and that Eastern and Thomson were at the Seneca tourney, but other strong GTA teams were available to compete. Far too often and for far too long, too much credit is given to the talent outside of the GTA, when our girls have proven time and again they can not only stand next to the Provincially chosen "Goddesses" (hope I spelled it right), but can also dominate them. Food for thought.

just for clarification, westdale finished fourth at the ram classic, general amherst was second and simoce third.

regarding basketball in the gta, you are correct in saying that many schools can compete, i am not so sure about dominate! but until these high profile gta schools do it on a regular basis, they will not receive their just desserts!
