you have to win the ofsaa birth from the athletic association that your school plays in. Some associations will have two births. I believe it is only a tier one tournament, which is why tier two schools are not necessarily bound by the same rules (transfers etc.) as tier one schools since they are not technically governed by ofsaa bound rules. I could be mistaken though.

If teams want to qualify I believe they would have to be in tier 1 in there respective regions

Why be in tier 2 if your goal would be to qualify for ofsaa?

I know some regions don't split into tiers till the season is over.

And some decide to go to either tier at the beginning of the year.

To qualify for OFSAA there is no invitation you simply win your league. Some leagues will get 2 spots. TDCAA got two last year, both teams in the league finals got the berths. LOSSA and Toronto Public also got 2 berths but I believe there was a backdoor game, meaning the team that lost its semifinal game to the league champions would have a playoff game against the loser of the finals, which makes sense because the team that lost in the finals could have had an easier path.

Mu2, you are wrong, any team can qualify, you just have to be good enough and win some games and then play the winner of the GHAC region and win that to make ofsaa

yep if u look at the i think the AAA school qualifying for ropssaa central peel louise arbour applewood
is in the run for it and the winner of tht faces the ghac winner and makes ofsaa
and for AA T.L kennedy judith nyman ste.familla and st.paul are in the run for ropssaa and they are all tier two teams.

thank you for the clarification.

That means no AAAA tier 2 schools can qualify for ofsaa from peel, but the rest of the division can.

I'm sure each region has there own method for qualifications

Ontario is divided into 18 regions. These regions then send qualifiers to the different OFSAA tournaments.

Some regions have separate leagues for each level (A, AA, AAA, AAAA) and send the winner of each to OFSAA.

Other regions play tier 1 and 2 and send the league champs to their respective level and then hold a tournament for the other levels or send the highest playoff finisher at each level.

Some regions have two berths at certain levels, based on having a higher number of teams. In AAAA, Toronto Public, Peel, and Central-Western Ontario all get two berths every year.

The host region in each tournament normally gets a second berth, unless they already have two entries.

If there is a spot left over, it is given to the defending gold medal region. If that region already has two berths, then it goes to the defending silver medal region, then bronze, then antique bronze (4th).
ofsaa is in london, and games should be broadcasted
OFSAA Championships are in:

"A"-North Bay
"AA" - North Bay
"AAA" - Niagara Falls
"AAAA" - London

There is not just one OFSAA tournament, unfair not to recognize the other tournaments apart from "AAAA."
