A sometimes sloppy game for Xavier, especially in the 4th quarter but at least it was a game with lots of substitutions and a chance for everyone to play some meaningful minutes.

Where is D'Youville being ranked. They seem to be having a good season. Are they just playing weaker teams or are they really that good?

Woww...augustine barely beatin teamss... are they as guud as they say they are???
Speaking to their coach they were up in both league games by 20 or so and then the bench came on and the opponents made a run. They will give Fletchers and Campion a game.
This is the usual scenario. When you're up by 30 points with 5 minutes to play, how can you justify not playing the bench? These guys come to all the practices and work just as hard as the starters. They deserve as much playing time as they can get without losing the game. Even though you want to play everyone, you just can't.
Coach Wells Davis (Mississauga Monarchs) and I lost a semi-final game at the OBA's 2 years ago for this exact reason. We were up by 20 points going into the 4th quarter. With 5 minutes left the coach put in most of the bench. The opposition stole the ball 3 times in a row on a press and hit three 3 pointers. We immediately wanted to call for a sub but had no opprotunity for about another minute. By that time our 20 point lead was cut to 6. The opposition gained momentum and our guys paniced. We end up losing the game.
The tide can turn quickly in a game. You need to keep a minimum number of starting players in at all times in order not to lose control of the game.

Re: Peel Tier I Regular Season Scores
This is not a regular season game but in a tournament, i seen that St. Christopher beat St. Theresa by 4!!!! .. and then campion beat St Christopher by around 20. Is This the St. Theresa that beat MT!?!?!?!!?

Re: Peel Tier I Regular Season Scores
Nope - the St Theresa that beat MT is St Theresa of Lisieux. To avoid confusion with other teams, we go by this name.
The only Peel teams we have played have been Loyola, Xavier, and d'Youville.

Re: Peel Tier I Regular Season Scores
Loyola Jr. Boys vs. Gonzaga Mon Dec 15/2008 (4:30 PM)
Loyola 89, Gonzaga 61
High scorers
Nik Stauskas (Loyola) 30 Pts.
Marcus Hanson (Gonzaga) 30 pts.
I usually just report the scores here, but I felt I had to say something. After the game the only Gonzaga player to come and shake hands was Marcus. Neither the Gonzaga coach nor any of the other players came to shake hands. The Loyola team was lined up at center court, and they walked directly into the change room. I don't know if this was a mistake or what it was, but I can tell you in all my years of coaching I've never seen such a display of poor sportsmanship. If it was done by accident, then you're forgiven. Otherwise, shame on you!

That's where he scored the most points on us - down the lane. He's about 6' and pretty well built. Hard to stop when a brick is moving through the lane!
