There is a rumour out there that a Bargnani for Ilyasova trade may be in the works. It may have some legs because its been floating around in the past.

I am still hopeful for Bargnani and feel he could still help but if he is going to go this is a trade I would make!

See this it has some compelling arguments:

No trade for Bargs. He hasn't shown enough since the injury to command much in return. Not sure why they paid a second rounder for Telfair when there must be guys in the D League who would come at no cost

Telfair will provide some depth at PG. We do need that if nothing else in case of injury. I think getting a (very) experienced player is a good choice.

It seems he has ties with some of our guys already so he may be a good fit in that sense too.

Also it is a protected 2nd round draft choice. We only lost a guy (Haddadi) who could not play in Canada because of visa problems.

    I'm okay with the move.

Opinions of the media are quite varying on Telfair... some have said he might be the worst player in the league and others say he has matured quite nicely into a pass first pg and is working hard on his shot. In the end... he will be here for a couple of months and perhaps never to be seen again.

But the real bottom line... Bargs is still here... Colangelo couldn't get what he wanted - without taking on way more $$$. So now BC has to hope Bargs can turn things around to increase his value or supplant himself as a bonafide scorer off the bench. Seriously, if Andrea doesn't turn things around and grow some ballini's... this could be his last NBA contract... because right now he is a "stiff"

Starting with the Wizards at home tonight the Raptors have a very important stretch in the week ahead!

Wednesday at Cleveland, Friday home to Indiana and a huge game on Saturday in Milwaukee.

Andrea can help the second unit I wish the fans would let him play. Booing does not help him or more importantly the team in any way!

TOtally agree about the booing... it's not going to help him - help the team.

But in the same breath, he's brought this on himself with his distant personality and emotionless play.

Yes he's confused and seems lost in his new role... but the way to snap out of it is accepting it and playing with passion and balls.

You know coach... players can contribute in many ways to this game without scoring a point... question is... does Bargnani know that or willing to do that.

Bottom line... no need for boos.

    Another massive letdown.

Seems like the league has figured out how to slow the Raps down... i.e. it's about letting Kyle dribble his way into trouble.

I for one am not sold on Kyle being a winning point guard who can lead us to contention and beyond.

I'm not surprised Andrea has played well in back-to-back road games. Maybe the idiots who boo our own guy will get the message and stfu!

Yes... nice to see the box score this morning and his 26.

It drives me nuts how the fans boo him... it's embarassing... this franchise has been around almost 20 years and the fans of this city should be more mature than that. It's pathetic.

You know basketball gods will take note of this... he will get traded and make some sort of historical shot to get back at the franchise.

There's a lot of good in this team... and some major decisions need to be made to make the team a playoff team!

Heard on the radio this morning how the Raps have lost 14 games when they've had the lead going into the 4th quarter. That's alarming and I'm sure coach Casey's job will really be examined.

Right or wrong... getting RUdy Gay has saved BC's job for probably two more years.

Major decisions need to be made with Andrea, and if Lowry is the point guard of the future for this team.

I hope NOT! I consider Kyle a solid back up on a very good team... or an OK starter on an average or below average team.

If he's our pg of the future then there is no future to speak of (at most - a first round and out playoff team).

I have removed Dwane Casey as my avatar.

I simply cannot condone his actions with respect to playing Jonas late in games. It goes beyond eccentric or bizarre. It shows he is simply not competent to be a head coach in the NBA.

Maybe he's a great assistant focusing on one aspect of the game - defence but he is not capable of making proper judgments in his rotations and so I no longer support him as Head Coach of the Raptors! Nice man straight shooter and a good motivator but not a competent coach at this time in his career!

I haven't been following too closely the last couple of weeks... but i am guessing you are referring to him not playing him at the end.

If so, I totally agree. kid has to play those important minutes to learn how to win with the rest of them.

Casey is going for as many wins as he can ahead of the development of his players. When that happens, that's usually a sign that the guy doesn't feel the support of management and thus is paranoid and fighting for his job.

Nice game for J-V (14 pts and 13 rebs) vs. some large size opposition. Drummond, Monroe and Maxiell now that's BIG!

Nice for JV great kid with great promise.

I shut it down and called it a season several weeks ago. Haven't seen a game since.

One thing I haven't said before that I gotta get off my chest... I feel Ross is very flighty out there.... and I don't mean his hops... I'm talking ADHD. Really question his bball IQ.

I prefer to think of it as the typical rookie adjustment. But you may be onto something.

Casey has not made it easy for the rookies but JV is much further along in terms of overall maturity and also in adapting to the League! Acy has had very little opportunity at all!

There are times when Ross has the look of a player but they are offset by other (more numerous) moments when he looks lost out there.

Very possibly and for Casey too perhaps. Or maybe he takes a first-hand look at them and one or both gets a very short leash.

Heard Colangelo on the FAN 590 a few days ago, talking about the 30 and 29 finish to the season. Of course most of the last five wins were against teams resting their best players and the 34 wins is more mediocrity.

I think we have enough of a body of work to judge this guy's performance and they surely can't bring him back after five years of missing the playoffs.

With no first rounder next year they will be hard pressed to improve.

Can't see this being interesting to Phil Jackson, at his age and with his health issues, and the condition of the franchise.

Ed Stefanski would appear to be a capable replacement, already on site. Not exactly a slick guy, with expensive suits and crisp ties but a solid basketball guy. Not sure about Coach Casey, but I'd be inclined to give him another year. He didn't have must to work with that first year and there was some improvement last year. I say one year, because I think he needs to make the playoffs to earn a longer extension.

Bargs needs to be moved in the off season, assuming they can find a taker.

What an embarassment... can't believe how disprespectful MLSE is acting in leaving BC hanging like this.
