Congratulations to Father Henry Carr for winning their second Junior Rimrocker Championship. Also congratulations to D'Youville for their third appearance in the Junior Rimrocker final; Father Goetz for winning their first Junior Rimrocker medal; and Holy Trinity for their second straight final four appearance.

In the opinions of the host committee this was the deepest tournament in its 8-team history and this was reflected in the quality of the basketball over the course of the four days.

Good luck to all participants in the second half of your seasons.

We would like to thank Bob Maddock, Ken Dvorsky and all the volunteers at Phillip Pocock SS for joining us as a host school this year.

Of course, we were once again well-served by Greg Spagnoli, Neil Nacita, and everyone at St. Edmund Campion SS. Bob Tucci was once again the amazing one man show at Mount Carmel and did a great job hosting the playoffs this year.

We are very lucky at Xavier to have such amazing support from our athletics department, administration, the teaching staff, and the student body. It is one of the biggest events of the year at our school and it is reflected in the level of enthusiasm by all those mentioned above. We look forward to doing it all again next year.

In many ways this was a special year because many of the participants in this year's tournament will form the core of the OFSAA AAAA participants in two years time. As we will be hosting that tournament at many of the Junior Rimrocker venues, we can think of this year's tournament as a preview of what is to come.

Great tournament! Great good representing Peel D'Y and Goetz taking 2 of the three medals... Definitely the teams to beat in Peel are Goetz and D'Y!

Not true about McNab bringing down junior aged players from senior team.A few of these guys have played in 1 or 2 tournaments with the seniors but they are all on the junior team.

Just want to thank all the members of the Xavier Rimrocker tournament. You hosted a very large tournament and did an exceptional job!! It was great to see the talent across the province.

on a side note, McNabb did not bring players from the senior team. All the players were at our tournament as well. It was too bad their captain and another starter got injured in the round of sixteen.

Good Luck to all teams in the remainder of the year.

Next big tournament--> All Catholics, featuring HT, DY, St. Mikes, Goetz, STM and more. (3 of the 4 final 4 at the rimrocker)

Don't forget Campion as they will be there at the All-Catholics and should have their starting grade 9 point guard Marcus Anderson who did not play in the tournament due to a hip injury.

I think Goetz surprised everyone this weekend

Looks like Dyouville would have been the champs without the late addition.

What happened to Vaughan? Are they in a rut?

Was Dunbarton missing they're 2 best players? Didn't see them in the high scorers.

Holy Trinity finally faced some good competition and looked like they held their own. But did lose their first 2 games of the year over the weekend.

    Toughest schedules over the weekend:

Goetz: McNabb, Vaughan, More, Dyouville, Holy Trinity

Dyouville: Vanier, Martingrove, Oakwood, Eastern, Goetz, Carr

    Eastern: Carr, Downsview, Dyouville

Goetz was using grade 10 from Senior team. However, as long as they are of the appropriate age/grade, and it does not break the tournament's rules, I have no problem with it. They may not get the same results in the rest of their season though - if this was done for the Rimrocker only.

Untrue regarding Goetz using any players from their Seinor team, as the Senior boys team does NOT have any junior aged players on it.
The team which participated at Rimrocker is the same team which play all the regular season league game.

It is true that they used a man from the senior team "donylo kostecki" but that is only because their other big man was unable to attend the tournament due to personal problems so they were short big men, he is not really a factor they needed him as an extra body

Yes, that right. He does play with the seniors and he was a factor for the junior team. Scored 19 in the bronze game.

That was his best game the other games he barely scored and rarely played he was used incase their only other big man got into foul trouble
they do not need him they are good enough majority of their points come from their wings and they play a great team defense i would love to see them against carr or even st.mikes

Holy Trinity is a good team...but not top 5 though. They lost three games on the weekend (St. Thomas More, Carr, and Goetz).

They are well coached, and their PG is smooth and always plays under control.

Goetz is a very good team. Without the one player they are still very talented and would be a threat to any team.

Their big man does make a difference, he scored 8 against us and had a bunch of rebounds. He also defends very well. But, the team doesn't drop if he isn't there, they are still very good and have other players that can play his position.

on another note, St. Mikes is a very strong team as well, I think they deserve a higher vote. We will see how they preform at the all catholics.
