When is the Applewood OFSAA play-in game scheduled for? Depending on how the schedule plays out, and how it works with the football playoff schedule, I'm interested in coming by and shooting a game -- assuming you're ok with it. Familiar with a bunch of the girls from Rugby.

Looks like Carmel and Leger will have to play off for the second AAAA spot as I don't see either of them knocking off the powerhouse teams. Peel has certainly shown its depth this season.

Yup..though no one really knows much about leger so who knows??

The score is a little flattering to Leger. Ascension lead by over 20 since early in the game and rested the starters frequently. Leger has a couple of decent post players and move the ball around fairly well. I think Mt. Carmel (assuming a D'youville win) should handle them for the 2nd OFSAA AAAA spot.

Ascension is AA so they are not involved in OFSAA qualifying against Leger or Carmel who are AAAA

This should be exciting!

Obviously, D'youville is the favourite having lost only one game all year. But I think you will see a great game from Christine who, when motivated, is so hard to defend.

I think Ascension can keep this a close game - if Christine can stay out of foul trouble, she can win this game in the end despite D'youville's superior depth.

Both teams have already qualified for OFSAA so ROPSSAA bragging rights is all that is on the line.

Carmel defeated Leger in a tough fought game 47-37. Leger played tough-- but great defense from Carmel made the difference.

All the teams from Peel that move onto the various OFSSA berths will hopefully represent the region well. It's been a REALLY competitive region with a lot of high energy, tough-nosed, competitive basketball-- a great season for many teams in Peel giving us all something to look forward to in future seasons.

Ascension wins!!

What a an exciting game. I got caught up in the excitement but I believe the final score was 59-56.

Ascension's guards kept them in the game in the first half with about 10 three pointers (I am not exaggerating). Christine had to sit with three fouls.

As I predicted, with the game on the line, Christine Hyde took over and D'Youville had no answer for her and led the game through the final 5 minutes but barely held on with D'youville pressing.

Congratulations to Coaches Magistrale and Kalino for bringing the first Senior Girls' ROPSSAA championship to Ascension!
