Most seeding committees meet tonight or tomorrow and they are usually released a couple of hours after the meeting.
It will be interesting to see how seeding is affected by player eligibility. A number of qualifiers come from leagues where ineligible players can play in tournaments and, since that is often where the seeding committees pay the most attention in differentiating between teams from different leagues, it could make for a difficult job.
(Please note: this is not a commentary on the use of players in such situations; only the acknowledgement of an issue that will probably make seeding more difficult for some teams.)

St. Pat's won the TDCAA/CISAA playoff in A. Still not sure what's going on in SOSSA.
ACMT defeated Ascension in the ROPSSAA/GHAC playoff. Not sure the score. The game for the second SWOSSAA spot is today as well.
The SWOSSAA AAAA rep will be decided today, too and then all the spots will be filled in the four classifications.

Just an observation but I find it very interesting that no one mentions that St. Mikes has used a player all year that while he is eligible in their league will not be eligible for OFSAA. Their board has basically no transfer policy as far as I know. This player was a starter and was a significant contributor to their results this year. Some other schools are singled out justly or not for doing the exact same thing. Each board has some different rules for league play and people all have valid arguments on both sides of the fence. Ofsaa transfer policy is very limited and students do have very valid reasons for leaving their old schools that do not fall under eligible circumstances. It's a difficult debate but some schools seem to fall under more scrutiny than others. It is also interesting that St. Mikes basically gets an automatic bid to Ofsaa because they had no one else in Quad A to qualify against and other areas such as GHAC are competing against some other areas just to get a bid. I don't think this is right and something Ofsaa should look at.

GHAC has their own bid in AAAA. Were you refering to the other levels?
At some point, OFSAA is probably going to need to provide guidance or a standard way to interpret this issue. I know that when we sit down in 2014 to seed, the committee would rather not have to make up our own rules in regards to using these games in seeding.

Surprise?

I would have thought Ascension was favoured going in based on what I've read here. I've seen ACMT and am always impressed by their full court game and the fact they are a tiny school.
I think GHAC bball has improved overall and is maybe the toughest to come out of. Is it fair to say Peel has regressed somewhat?

[quote="therealdeal13"] I agree with you 100% St.Michaels for years has had a free lunch in qualifying for 4A ofssa. This year they are however a legit contendered but never the less should still have to be challenged for their spot.Unfortunately they are losing a starter /hope its not one of their guards.I think the Toronto Catholic League is under represented @ 4a so maybe the loser of their league should play St. Michaels in a back door qualiying match to rep 4A @ ofssa in the future.(only a thought)Hey congradulation to Collingwood a small town population 16,000 for having 2 teams 4A /1A qualify for ofssa this year.Go owls! p.s. could you confirm the St.Michaels player that can't play @ ofssa / definetly it should effect their ranking @ the 4A's.

Everyone knows a prediction could not be made based on this board since its focus is almost exclusively the GTA so there would obviously be a lot written about Ascension and little or nothing about ACMT.
In regards to the second point; Peel, like most GTA regions has been significantly affected by prep school losses but the challenge matches are not proof of any recent trends. Peel has been dominated by AAAA schools for a long time and there have been few AA/AAA powerhouses over that time that disn't play up. GHAC wins have been the norm.

btownfan............ thanks for the props!! I'm with the quad A Owls and we are proud of our small town bball success. Our single A bretheren (Pretty River) were last years A consolation champs (3-1) and this is our second trip to the 4A show in two years.
Other teams from our area include Twin Lakes from Orillia AA (check out there mix tape somewhere on this board) and St. Theresa from Midland in AAA which is their third trip in a row. Both of these teams will be dangerous in their brackets.

osyp /your welcome /playing highschool back in the early 70's in nearby Owen Sound we use to play Stayner a school half our size and they always gave us a good game/so I know that area can ball. They had a great player Jeff Smith who played for UNV.of Guelf and he would have been probable the best high school player ever to come out of that area back in the day/glad to hear Collingwood is keeping the tradition alive.Best wishes @ Ofssa wish I could be there this year and rooting for the small schools.

Xavier............. thanks for your efforts on this board to keep us informed. Seedings are great. Westmount and Crothers could make some noise from the bottom half of the draw. Top half looks like pretty open to me. Whoever makes their shots.
Btownfan......... I remember Jeff Smith. From Redwing. Hit the winning shot in 73 ? when Guelph won the CIAU National Champioships, via a wild card berth. Garney Henley coaching, Wayne Morgan, Bob Sharpe, Jeff Smith main guys.
