Ryerson University’s “Battle of the Boards” is a season ending celebration of High School Basketball, with teams from York Region, Halton, Durham, Team West (Peel), Toronto and Toronto Catholic participating in this one day All Star showcase. On March 24th come see the top high school basketball players in the GTA battle for regional supremacy.

Team Selection is handled by the regional team contact; no team can have more than 3 athletes from any one High School.

I like the concept! It's about time. It reminds me of the Star wars tournament that they had back in the day during the late 1980's and early 1990s at Varsity Arena. Maybe one day you can expand it and go back to that tournament format...but I'm glad that Ryerson is doing the region vs. region concept again.......I know that Durham is going to be real nice this year.....3 players from J Clarke, 3 players from Pickering, 3 Players from Pine Ridge and 3 Players from Anderson and Durham should be pretty much set. Durham is facing off against Peel....just like the good old days when Durham and Peel played in the Star War Finals two years in a row...with guys like Sherman Hamilton, Reggie Obbletey, Dwayne Hemmings (Peel) versus Kirk Salesman, Doug Wilson and Jason Medford (Durham)

So is this just one match for each team or a championship tournament where winning teams move on to finals?

when are the teams to be announced ?? i'm guessing the coaches were picked based on the best team in the region.

In this the first year of the event we have decided to start with a single game format. The goal is to expand it in the future years to hopefully take on a tournament format.

Recent Stanford comitt 6'11 Stephan Nastic and Team Canada PG Kevin Pangos have confirmed the participation for York Region in this event.
It should be a great evening of top flight basketball.

Toronto Public..hard to believe Aaron Best, Julian Clarke and Kevin Blake aren't mentioned here...

I just mentioned him in my choices.

I think there should be a Dunk-off and maybe a 3-point shoot-out as well...
